Committee To Defend Asylum Seekers
Sheffield CDAS is an organisation which fights for asylum seekers who live in Sheffield to be allowed to stay in the UK. These people have become our friends, and contribute massively to the cultural identity of the city. Yet many live in fear of their lives, with the constant threat of deportation over their heads, and there is a real chance for some that if the UK government sends them to their country of origin, they could face torture, physical abuse or even death.
We meet once a month to organise and strategise anti-deportation campaigns and start new campaigns for asylum seekers who attend.
